SMOTT ensures that all short filmmakers get benefit from these monetization policies. Smott came out with this platform dedicated to short movies because we recognize the struggles, creativeness, talents, and more involved for your short movies. 

Hence these policies should be respected and followed. 

If you’re monetizing on SMOTT, your short films must follow SMOTT monetization policies. These include SMOTT’s Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, Copyright. They apply to anyone in, or looking to apply to, the SMOTT Partner Program or anyone receiving Shorts bonuses from the SMOTT Shorts Fund.  

If you want to monetize videos with ads, they must also meet our Advertiser-friendly content guidelines.

Here’s a quick overview of each major policy. Make sure you read each policy thoroughly, as these policies are used to check if a short movie is suitable to monetize. Our reviewers regularly check to see whether monetizing short movies follow these policies. 

SMOTT Community Guidelines:

These guidelines help keep SMOTT a great community for viewers, creators, and advertisers. Content that violates SMOTT’s Community Guidelines is not eligible for monetization and will be removed from SMOTT.

Anyone on SMOTT needs to follow our Community Guidelines. Monetizing creators should know that our guidelines don’t only apply to individual videos, but your Account overall. Below are the Community Guidelines that are most relevant to Accounts that can already, or want to monetize: 

• Spam, deceptive practices, and scams
• Nudity and sexual content (under 16 yrs)
• Child safety
• Harmful or dangerous content
• Hate speech
• Harassment and cyberbullying

Keep in mind that any content you post must follow all our Community Guidelines.

SMOTT is constantly changing and improving the Service and adapting to the world around us. We may need to make changes to the terms and conditions or policies that apply to your use of the Service - including the Terms of Service, and the SMOTT Partner Program Terms, our policies, and other contractual documents - to reflect changes to our Service or for legal, regulatory, or security reasons. 

We’ll let you know in writing when we make changes that might impact you. If you do not agree to the modified terms, you may stop using the relevant feature, or terminate your agreement with us. 

To help you stay up to date with our policies, we also maintain a permanent log of updates.

Monetization perks & Terms:

• Instant monetization: You fall under monetization without any minimum requirements.
• Your earnings are directly added to your SMOTT wallet.
• Can withdraw your money once your wallet reaches the minimum requirement of $50.  
• If SMOTT identifies duplicate contents, your earnings will be forfeit.
• Your earnings will start from 1000 *FULL VIEWS of the short movies by 1000 different registered members. That means one person viewing the same movie multiple times will count as 1 unique VIEW only. ( some exception acceptable)
• Incomplete movie streaming WILL NOT count as a view.
• Payment will be processed on the 21st  of every month and could be deposited on the same day or as per to international transaction policy. ( once payment withdrawal request is submitted between 1st till 30th/31st, the payment from SMOTT will be released on next 21st).

The table shown above is only for 30000 views, however, as its open website, we did not mention the perks for more than 30000 views. This information will be available / shared for active filmmakers who are about to reach 30k views on their short movies posted, through email.

Minimum eligibility requirements to turn on monetization:

Note* Keep in mind that each movie content has its requirements. Some content may not be available to you due to local legal requirements.

Once you've been accepted in the SMOTT terms, you may get access to these monetization benefits :

• Be at least 18 years old, or have a legal guardian older than 18 years of age who can handle your payments.
• No minimum memberships.

Your SMOTT earnings and tax liability

Earning money on SMOTT or receiving any bonuses are a great way to be rewarded for good, engaging content on the platform. Keep in mind that you may be liable to pay taxes to your country of residence on any income earned from your monetized videos on SMOTT. Check with your local tax authorities for detailed guidance.

Note* Views are only counted from registered users ( Premium / Free users), views from non registered users will not be eligible for compensation, and malpractice or suspicious accounts will be flagged with a warning and later removed if they continue with such activities and behavior. Legal action may apply.
